“Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

Arundhati Roy

Hierarchical systems have brought us to the edge of social and ecological sustainability, and as women we feel the pain of this global crisis resonating in our bodies, our personal lives, and our communities. Simultaneously, the evolutionary imperative to re-member wholeness, to move from “power over” to “relationship with,” is waking us up. Something new wants to happen through us. With the relentlessness of labor pain, it is pushing outward, asking for a new story, a paradigm shift, a radical transformation. In the process, we are called to know, love, and trust ourselves - and each other - more deeply.

Finding our medicine as women and female-identified people, finding our voice and way as daughters, mothers, elders, and stewards of this Earth, is essential right now. How do we invoke the intuitive, creative, irrational, deeply informed feminine nature, and incorporate her guidance into our lives and world?

The intention of this program is to release outgrown, limiting identities, and to witness and celebrate what wants to happen now - to bring forth what these times are asking for, in service of ourselves, our children and families, and our human and more-than-human communities.

Program overview: Over the course of six days, we will invoke the timeless recipe of communion with the living earth and other womxn* as we alternate time in council together with time to venture into wild places for personal ceremony. The container for our work will be the Four Shields, a cyclical model of human development that moves with the seasonal cycles, works with directions found in the natural world, and incorporates all aspects of being: body, psyche, mind, and spirit. We will explore each of the Shields through teaching, solo time on the land, council, story-telling, and mirroring.

Prerequisites: There are no pre-requisites to participate other than a genuine call to occupy one's seat in the circle. This offering is a ceremony with roots in the pan-cultural rites of passage tradition of the School of Lost Borders.

The School of Lost Borders has created a sliding scale for all its programs and trainings in an effort to keep our courses affordable to a wide range of people. We set forth no criteria and trust that each individual will pay what they feel is appropriate.
