Stephan Pfannschmidt (he/him) became a guide in his early 50s with all his passion, ambition and capacity. In the 1980s his mother Irmtraut Schaefer, a Jungian psychologist and one of the first Guides to bring Vision Fast to Germany, inspired him to visit Steven and Meredith in Big Pine. The two sent him out on a Medicine Walk and mirrored his story. The rabbit was his medicine: courage!
Thirty years later, back again in the very same desert, he was called by his own primal scream to turn his life upside down: he turned from being a marine biologist to becoming a Vision Fast Guide himself. Since 2018 he is member of the netkeeping team in the German network of vision fast guides. Together with his partner he finds wild places for the initiatory work. Stephan guides vision fasts in Germany and Italy, medicine walks, walk-a-ways and facilitates council. He is fascinated by the soul-work people do, whenever a safe ritual setting is held for them and wild nature is there to bring the message. It is his commitment to hold this setting allowing participants to connect honestly to their human nature.
