International Travel Advice
The following is not legal advice. Please consult an immigration lawyer and check the latest (and ever-changing) guidelines before making any legal decisions.
Below are some useful resources regarding travel to the USA:
Please do your own research to ensure you have the appropriate visa and travel paperwork by visiting: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html/visa which covers the most recent government requirements.
It is worth knowing that non US Citizens can have their phones, laptops, social media and emails searched and looked through at the US border, and refusal to do so will result in being denied entry to the USA.
International visitors (ie those without full USA Citizenship- including legal US Green Card holders and Canadian’s) are now strongly advised to be carrying “proof of registration” ie proof of their ability to legally be in the US with them everywhere, at all times.
If asked about reason for entry at the border, participants are recommended to emphasise the experiential (rather than vocational) nature of our programs. You may want to use the wording “a short recreational course of study – not for credit toward a degree”. You can download a PDF template of a letter detailing your participation in program with us and fill in the relevant information to have with you at the border HERE.
Policies and protocols are changing quickly right now and so the information may not be up to date. Please do you own research. We wish you smooth and safe travels.
